Today, 15 February 2024, the Ministry issues an ordinary stamp belonging to the thematic series "the Excellence of Knowledge" dedicated to Giovan Battista Basile, with tariff indication B.
The cartoon depicts a portrait of Giovan Battista Basile, Italian writer and writer of the Baroque period, author of "Lo cunto dei li cunti", a collection of 50 stories in the Neapolitan language, which inspired some of the most famous fairy tales such as Cinderella, Rapunzel, Puss in Boots, Sleeping Beauty, Hansel and Gretel.
The stamp is completed by the legend "GIOVAN BATTISTA BASILE", the dates "1566 - 1632", the inscription "ITALIA" and the tariff indication "B".
